The Centre for Fine Arts was occupied by artists and students for around ten days. Their prodigious capacity for indignation which gave society a fresh spirit of freedom forms a source of inspiration to this day. Fifty years on, we are celebrating militant activism in music, and more specifically in jazz. We are not just performing works which particularly stood out, but also contemporary artists who use music to spread their messages and demonstrate their social commitment.
