This new evening of Le Monde en archipels will be devoted to violence against women in the Francophone expression zone. However, the objective is not to limit the event to a description of the phenomena, but to come up with some positive solutions.

Is there, within the Francophone space,  a common front of exchanges and solidarity between women of different geographical origins? Do experiences, various according to social models, feed the reflections and orientations of the various feminist movements in Quebec or in Senegal? If, for example,  in some countries access to rights is consolidated by marriage and motherhood, what dialogue can there be with women for whom these issues represent complex and ambiguous realities?

To question the diversity of the points of contact between women’s struggles in the Francophone countries means to try to find, beyond a shared language, a common base that can serve as a foundation for a fairly unified space to offer the world a truly shared future.

The purpose of this October 17th is to reflect concretely on the deep roots that make violence so brutal and devastating.

The event is free but is inscription is requested here.
