With support from the European Union, ‘Syrians got talent’ wants to put Syrian people back on the agenda, highlighting their resilience and empowering them to tell their own stories. This concert played by talented Syrian musicians will take place during the second Brussels international conference on ‘Supporting the Future of Syria and the region
Tuesday 24 April 2018

‘Syrians Got Talent’ is an extraordinary group of Syrian musicians who fled their war-torn country and made it to Europe in 2015-2016. They believe that artistic responses to the violence – playing music – help transform the trauma and highlight the resilience of Syrian civilians.

During the concert the ensemble will play a mix of oriental and Western music, from Rachid Taha to Jacques Brel, in Arabic, French and English. East meets West on stage and through dialogue. The musicians will engage with the audience and will share their stories and dreams for the future.

The concert is part of Tourab: Syria Art Space (17- 27 April), a ten day pop-up Syrian artistic and cultural space in Galerie Ravenstein. Showcasing the Syrian cultural scene through exhibitions, debates, performances, films, workshops in interactive formats.

Louloua Rahmoun Levacher (vocals), Basel Khalil (guitar), Talal Kabane (drums), Mabad Soleiman (violin), Walid Horan (lute), Schams al-Ghoneimi (founder)
