We are looking for an outstanding individual to join our growing communications team, in Brussels, as an Events and Communications Officer for a new project which will focus on environmental access to justice across the EU. A self-motivated and enthusiastic team player, the Events and Communications Officer will work with the legal team, Communications Manager, Director and colleagues from across the organisation to make sure our work is strongly communicated through events and promotional materials as well as media consumption. The Communications Officer will be an essential part of the communications team and will be responsible, along with the digital communications team, for the design and production of promotional materials, events planning and communications output for this project.
The successful candidate must be able organise events, briefings and conferences on access to justice in environmental matters. You will be highly organised, efficient and able to handle a number of competing priorities, while working to strict deadlines, with excellent written and verbal skills in French, English and, ideally, another European language. You will need a professional and friendly manner and be able to establish good working relationships with external stakeholders and audiences.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for communications work and a proven track record in creative output. They will know how to gain excellent print and broadcast coverage for complex subjects and will work closely with national and international media. A key element of the job will be to develop, prepare and produce creative and engaging awareness-raising materials, digital and social media communications.
