Dods EU Monitoring is looking for writers to report in English on meetings of the European parliament on a freelance basis.
Reports should summarise relevant items on the committee or plenary agendas in a neutral style. Freelancers should be available during parliamentary committee and plenary weeks throughout the year. They would attend meetings as appropriate and send in summary reports into Dods by email ASAP after the event. Committee meetings can be followed online as can the Plenary sessions.
Freelancers would be typically commissioned for 3 half days per week during committee and plenary weeks. Some evening work may be required. Competitive hourly rates paid. The role would suit individuals looking for part-time work with experience of working with the European parliament and/or following EU legislation.
Writers should have following attributes:
- Fluent-level written English;
- Ability to commit for at least 6 months;
- Experience of having followed parliamentary committees;
- Journalistic/writing experience.
