A more prominent corner dedicated to Poland
The addition of these two models allows Poland to take on a more prominent role within the park, offering visitors a more comprehensive view of its rich cultural heritage. These monuments are integrated into a carefully designed setting that evokes the atmosphere of the Royal Łazienki Park, with special animations to enrich the visitor experience. Vinciane Meeùs, Managing Director of Mini-Europe: ‘A visit to Mini-Europe is a chance to discover magnificent monuments, superbly animated decors and a unique encounter with European history and values. With the addition of these new Polish monuments, the history of Mini-Europe is expanding.’
A cultural heritage representative of European history
Mini-Europe now presents four Polish monuments representing different periods of European history:
The Palace on the Isle (Lazienki Palace) (inaugurated in 2025): This baroque house, transformed by King Poniatowski into a bathhouse, represents the elegance and grandeur of Poland’s classical heritage. The King ruled the common market of Lithuania and Poland at the time and attempted to introduce the reforms of the Enlightenment in Poland.
The Statue of Chopin (inaugurated in 2025): Paying tribute to the most famous Polish composer, whose music, inspired by nostalgia for his homeland, reinvented classical music worldwide. A musical installation playing Chopin’s compositions is a reminder of the famous open-air concerts that have been held in the park for over 65 years.
These are in addition to those that already existed:
The Arthus Court in Gdansk (inaugurated in 2004): A symbol of European trade in the period, this neo-Gothic style house welcomed merchants from all over Europe, particularly from the Hanseatic League. Built by a Dutchman, it displays Roman symbols and the effigy of Sigismund III, Grand Duke of Lithuania, King of Poland and King of Sweden.
The Three Crosses Monument in Gdansk (inaugurated in 2004): This monument pays tribute to the victims of the shipyards during the trade union struggles and stands as a symbol of the Solidarnosc movement in its fight against Soviet authority.

Celebrating Polish culture
To celebrate Poland’s cultural richness, Mini-Europe plans to organize a Polish Weekend on 26 and 27 April 2025, offering visitors the opportunity to discover Polish culinary delights, enjoy cultural and folkloric entertainment, participate in family workshops and discover Polish crafts.
A collaborative project
The expansion of the Polish section at Mini-Europe is a joint initiative of the Polish Embassy in Belgium, the Polish Tourist Office and Mini-Europe, with the support of the City of Warsaw, the Mazovia Voivodeship, the Royal Łazienki Museum and LOT Polish Airlines.
This project takes on special significance as Poland assumes the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, reaffirming its commitment to Europe’s shared history and culture.
Craftsmanship down to the last detail
The project began in 2022 and was a precision job, tailor-made for the site. It involved selecting the monuments and dealing with the administrative formalities, painstaking work to reproduce the details of these monuments on a scale of 1:25 based on plans, photos and drone scans, hand-painted finishes, as well as bringing the whole thing to life with figurines and animations in a natural setting.

Every Friday, the 2^nd edition of the “Laeken Fires” by the City of Brussels will offer many activities and entertainment (food trucks, dances, workshops, demonstrations, games, initiations, etc.) from 6 pm. The evening will culminate at 11 pm with a firework display from the foot of Palace 5 of Brussels Expo. The event is completely free of charge.

Each Friday will also have a different theme:

• 26^th of July: Fantasy World
• 2^nd of August: Around the World
• 9^th of August: Greenfeeling
• 16^th of August: Watersplash
• 23^rd of August: Musicals

On this occasion, Mini-Europa will remain open for several nights until midnight (the last entrance is one hour before the closing time), with a festival of lights. This will translate into « a fascinating play of light and shadow that will highlight the details of each model, » says the park. The Atomium will also be accessible in the evening, with the last entrances at 9:30 pm, to pass the time until the fireworks display.

Cercle

Cercle is a French cultural media platform which sets out to create unique audio-visual experiences while raising awareness of heritage, art and culture among audiences. Every other Sunday, an artist and a place are thrown into the spotlight through a performance broadcast from a surprising venue. The live performance will be followed by an interview on Facebook Live.

The Atomium DJ set is certainly not Cercle’s first event. Indeed, it has already put on events in many unexpected places throughout the world, such as the Palace of Fontainebleau, Tahiti in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, the Roman Theatre of Orange and even the Eiffel Tower.

Exclusive DJ set at the feet of one of Brussels’ iconic monuments

The DJ set, made possible thanks to the partnership with visit.brussels, the Atomium and the City of Brussels, will take place at the feet of the famous Atomium, which was built for the Brussels World’s Fair (1958), where it served as its signature building and emblem.

The artist will be filmed from a number of angles on a number of cameras during the broadcast. The programme will be streamed live on Cercle’s Facebook page. Following the live performance, there will be an interview with the artist, where users will be able to ask her questions.

The Atomium

The building was designed and built for the Brussels World’s Fair (1958), where it served as its signature building and emblem. With its slogan “a world for a better life for mankind”, Expo 58 was intended to be the expression of the democratic ambition of building peace between all nations, of faith in technical and scientific progress and, finally, of an optimistic vision for the future of a new, modern and hyper-technological world where all people can live better lives.

Amelie Lens

You would be hard pressed to find another artist whose star is rising quite as fast as the Belgian artist Amelie Lens. In just a few years, this relentless perfectionist has become one of the most in-demand DJs / producers in the world. Amelie released her début album on the Pan-Pot label’s highly acclaimed imprint, Second State, and then shortly after, a stunning EP on one of the most celebrated underground labels, ARTS.

At the same time, Amelie has launched her own events, EXHALE, which have been quickly booked for the biggest festivals. She has also set up her own label, Lenske, which reflects her authentic, energetic and ambitious image, helping her to solidify her reputation as a knowledgeable curator and an expert behind the decks.

For those who did not know, the restaurant at the top of the Atomium offered a panoramic view at 95m above the ground.

The company has brought forward proceedings in judicial reorganization before the court of the French-speaking company in Brussels. This time, the procedure is aimed at the transfer of activities.

Nicholas Ouchinsky, the lawyer of Belgium Taste, confirmed that the restaurant at the top of the Atomium is for sale.

The public will be able to enjoy the firework show from the Heysel plateau.  On this occasion, a final tribute will be payed to the 60th anniversary of the Atomium and Expo 58.

Starting from 21:30, a DJ will be playing hits, and at 22:30, the sky will be illuminated by the show « Pedaleando Hacia el Cielo »  Theater Tol.

The final countdown before the transition to the new year will be followed by the grandiose fireworks.  The party will continue with music until 1 am.

Last year, the firework show had been moved from Place de Brouckere to the Heysel plateau and the event attracted approximately 45,000 people.
