The shops in the centre of the City of Brussels are allowed to be open on Sundays, also during the Christmas holidays.
Shopping on Sundays
The shops in the centre of Brussels (Pentagon) may also be open on Sundays. Many stores already took this opportunity: the major chain stores at the Reu Neuve and the boutiques of the Marolles, the Sablon and the Grand-Place. In the upper city and the Saint-Jacques and Dansaert quarters, more and more stores are participating in the project:
This opening is not mandatory. A number of shops and stores could thus be closed on these Sundays.
On January 3rd, 2019, the winter sales start. They will last till January, 31st, 2019.
