A new edition of BOZAR Night unites the diversity of contemporary clubbing in one evening: intoxicating techno, adventurous house, infectious four to the floor and fluid ambient sounds. In 2 halls BOZAR Night strikes with 2 upcoming Belgian names Dj Charme and Otis, 2 live acts by 2 women, Coucou Chloé and Golin, from the front ranks of the electronic scene, and 2 headliners Jacques Greene and Daniel Avery who are emerging on an international level and release a new album. It promises to be a busy night  during the BOZAR Night you can –as a variation with the dance floor– visit no less than five exhibitions:

  • Beyond Klimt. Kokoschka, Schiele, Kupka, Moholy-Nagy
  • Theodoor van Loon. A caravaggist painter between Rome and Brussels
  • Chris Marker. Memories of the Future
  • Romeo Castellucci
  • Joris Van de Moorte

ARTISTS

Daniel Avery (UK)

British producer and DJ Avery can be seen as a true « techno-auteur ».  He can headline clubs and festivals with sinuous techno on the one hand and produce music that reflects a wide range of influences that go way further than techno – from shoegaze to psychedelics, industrial, drone and analog ambient synth music. Being close to Erol Alkan’s Bugged-out series and Trash nights, Avery became one of the residents of London’s Fabric. He is currently touring to promote his latest album, « Song for Alpha », on which dance floor and ambient meet.

Jacques Greene (Ca)

It’s been nearly a decade since the Canadian dj and producer released his first tracks, sharing his personal style to the world : adventurous house music with chopped-up R&B vocals mixed with electronica and UK bass, which soon became his trademark sound.  He released a series of EP’s and remixed the likes of Radiohead, Shlomo, Ciara and P.Diddy, and released his first full album last year. Having toured the world, Greene’s shows guarantee deep dancefloor knowledge with future house music. On October 19 he is releasing the new EP  ‘Fever Focus’ op Lucky Me (Lucky Me).

Coucou Chloe  (F)

French DJ/producer/vocalist coucou chloe – a resident of both London and NTS Radio – released her debut EP
Halo (on Creamcake) in 2016, but much has happened since then. With her track “Doom” appearing as part of the soundtrack for Rihanna’s Fenty x Puma show at New York Fashion Week in 2017, the scene was set for her Erika Jane
EP – this time on nascent  record label NUXXE, which she co-runs alongside Crazylegs’ Sega Bodega and frequent collaborator, Shygirl.
With a thoroughly modern sound that has gestated online but
lives primarily in the club, her beats range from sensuous and
slow hip¬hop bangers – complete with her modulated vocal raps – to  nervously energetic four to the floor… with a twist.
Playfully experimental but always with an ear tuned to pop,
Coucou chloé DJ’s you straight into that soundworld.

Golin (Jap)

Golin is a singer, producer,  classically trained pianist and performance artist born in Japan. Her performances are ridden with improvisation, carrying a strong and visceral focus on the body and its possible movements, as well as containing an instant spontaneity that turns her shows into perpetually surprising cinematic experiences.
Through her inspiration in folkloric fairy tales and fragmented memories, a variety of layered voices and samples transform her songs into dreamy fantasia.
Golin recently released her debut EP ‘Momo’ on 12” vinyl through Belgian label Midlife Music, and is currently the associated artist of Brussels cultural house Beursschouwburg.

DJ Charme  (B)

Starting his musical career as Kassett, the young Belgian dj and producer recently changed his name to Dj Charme, releasing a first album simply called Charme on his own Brussels’s Midlife Music. His music integrates a wide array of genres, from electronica to jungle via lush ambient cascades, without forgetting his twisted dancefloor fillers.

Otis (B)

Otis is founder & resident dj at Slagwerk, a collective primarily focusing on contemporary experimental music. Next to organizing events, they present themselves as a music label. Their aesthetic ranges from metamodern internet culture to endeavours into spiritual ambiences contaminated with strikingly metallic club environments. Striving for an eclectic body of work is the main goal.
