Scotland House Brussels would like to invite you to a traditional Scottish Ceilidh on the Schuman Roundabout to mark Scotland’s National Day. The event will be hosted with the City of Brussels and serves as the official opening of the annual Schuman Christmas Market as part of Rond-Point Schuman Lights Up.

The event will begin at 18:00 with some traditional Scottish and Belgian food and drink samples offered by Scotland House Brussels and the City of Brussels to the first arriving guests. Additional food and drink options will be available for purchase throughout the evening. From 19:30, guests will be invited to join in a Scottish Ceilidh – a uniquely Scottish party filled with traditional live music and dancing. Don’t worry if you don’t know the steps, there will be a caller to provide some guidance and the dances are easy for new comers to join in!

We are delighted to welcome the Scottish traditional trio ‘Kilda’, organised through Live Music Now Scotland, who will be performing at the ceilidh.

This is a public invitation.

St. Andrew’s Day

The people of Scotland have a world-renowned reputation for friendliness and inclusivity and to celebrate our national day this year, we’re encouraging everyone to carry out a small act of kindness to #MakeSomeonesDay this #StAndrewsDay. If everyone does one small thing this St. Andrew’s Day, together we can make a huge difference! Find out more about our St. Andrew’s Day here.

Live Music Now

Live Music Now was founded by legendary violinist Yehudi Menuhin in the 1970s to bring the experience of live music to people throughout our communities, particularly for those who otherwise would not have access to concerts, while simultaneously giving invaluable performing and training opportunities to outstanding emerging artists. Kilda

Scottish traditional trio Kilda will be providing traditional Scottish music at the event. The band have been part of Live Music Now since 2015, and have since performed in a wide range of settings, including schools for children with additional support needs, in public dementia friendly concerts, and in school tours around rural Scotland. The band consists of Mhairi Marwick (fiddle), Norrie MacIver (voice/guitar) and Scott Wood (pipes). Outwith Live Music Now Scotland, the trio regularly tour together, as well as with renowned groups such as Red Hot Chilli Pipers and Fat-Suit, and at festivals including Celtic Connections.
