At the beginning of February, Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival will come to Belgium for the seventh time to present the Echoes of its 22nd edition (2018) – a representative showcase of documentaries including a selection of winning films. Brussels screenings will stretch to three venues joined this year by a new partner in Ghent. On the programme: feature-length and short (experimental) films and the European documentary cinema at its finest!

Wednesday, February 6 / 6.30 pm / Opening Ceremony of the Echoes

Talks with TGM + Q&A with Jakub Červenka

Masterclass Salomé Jashi
Salomé Jashi is a Georgian documentary filmmaker and cinematographer and the co-founder of the Sakdoc Film production company. During her lecture she will show excerpts from her films and talk about approaching characters, as well as about finding the right visual style in documentary filmmaking.

Echoes of Ji.hlava are organized in Brussels and Ghent by JIDFF and Czech Centre Brussels with support of Vysočina Region, City of Jihlava and Embassy of the Czech Republic to the Kingdom of Belgium and local partners. The opening in the EP is organized with MEP Pavel Poc (S&D) and under the auspices of H. E. Pavel Klucký, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Kingdom of Belgium.
