Huntington is a rare, inherited neurodegenerative disease that causes a profound decline in patients. The six characters in the movie  Absolute Beginners have done a genetic test that shows that the condition will sooner or later manifest in them. They make the start of what they call their metamorphosis and meet regularly to talk about their situation and together to deal with what is happening to them.

With  Absolute Beginners , the six ‘debutants’ wanted to break with the tragic reactions that usually arise when they want to talk about the disease and share what is most important to them: the individual and collective driving force they learn to use in good spirits through to go according to their disease evolves. They are not just “absolute beginners” at the moment, but forever. They must make their present a constantly changing future. 

When Huntington’s disease occurs, it changes everything: body, soul, moods, thoughts, emotions, energy … and also relationships with beloved ones. Undergoing the test that means that genetic mutation is already deep transformation of life. Six persons who have a positive influence in a movie,  Absolute Beginners . They are experiencing the onset of their disease, and they know that when it comes to their metamorphosis, they will always be “Absolute Beginners”.

In this film, they share how they cope with HD in their life – fits, present and future. They tell us how they gain empowerment and well-being, through acceptance of their difference, peer-to-peer meetings, and inventions from their own happiness-making genius. They are experts in searching for what they need to do together with the disease.
