The City of Brussels is not abandoning the idea of reuniting its inhabitants during sunny moments and offers this year an original formula in the form of pop-ups: “Hello Summer”.

From July 25 to August 25, these leisure bubbles will take place in the heart of four different neighborhoods:

• from Thursday, July 25 to Sunday, August 4 at the Cité administrative (Rue Royale, column of the Unknown Soldier)
• from Thursday, August 8 to Sunday 11 August at Square Ambiorix (European Quarter)
• from Thursday, August 15 to August 18 at Peter Benoit Square (Neder-Over-Heembeek),
• from Thursday, August 22 to August 25 at Leopold Square (Laeken).

Sport, music, dance, interactive workshops, family activities … Many activities will be offered for young and old.
Local associations will also be an integral part of Hello Summer’s programming, involving residents in their own neighborhood life. Whether it’s workshops, games, small stands to support their internal projects, each inhabitant will have his place in the event.

Congress Square

Hello Summer will begin its journey in the place of Congress, a unique neighborhood that connects the top and bottom of the City, between the Notre-Dame aux Neiges district known for the legendary Cirque Royal and its many bars and restaurants, and the neighborhood of the rue du Marais (boulevard Pacheco) housing the Hautes Écoles and our famous Comic Strip Museum.

Between these two neighborhoods is an incredible space, little known to the general public, but seems to be made for moments of friendly sharing! It includes a beautiful garden created by the landscape René Péchère which opens on the City and an esplanade with a breathtaking view.

The city is still in motion … because a major renovation program is planned in this area by the City of Brussels. In the meantime, Hello Summer will settle there for ten days to offer two spaces with different atmospheres.

The esplanade will be transformed into a giant sports field, offering many disciplines while the gardens below offer a zone of relaxation and varied activities.

Local associations will also be an integral part of Hello Summer’s programming, involving residents in their own neighborhood life. Whether it’s grimage workshops, games, small stands to support their internal projects, each inhabitant will have his place in the event.

Check out the rest of the activities in the other 3 locations.
