The next Heritage Days (Journées du Patrimoine/Open Monumentdagen) in the Brussels-Capital Region will take place on 15 and 16 September 2018 and will have as theme: “Heritage is us!”

In the framework of 2018, the European Year of Cultural Heritage, the Brussels-Capital Region has launched a new challenge: ask citizens to talk about their heritage, ask them to write the Heritage Days program.

In September 2017, the call for projects “Heritage is us!” was thus launched: it invited the citizens to introduce projects allowing to discover in their way, original, different, friendly. The inheritance to which they are attached.

A success: more than a hundred projects have reached the Monuments and Sites Directorate. The jury has selected 95 which will make the program of the 30th edition of Heritage Days.

This program will give access to places otherwise closed.

It reflects the vision that citizens, institutions, associations and committees have of their heritage. The public is invited to attend a multitude of activities, highlighting real estate heritage, movable or intangible often surprising, sometimes unusual but always endearing.
