Rising queen of the R&B-scene debuts with ‘SWEETSEXYSAVAGE’
Together with Jhené Aiko & Tinashe, the rising queen of the American R&B and hip-hop scene. Managed to create quite some waves with her mixtape ‘You Should Be Here’ from 2015, culminating in a Grammy nomination for ‘Best Urban Contemporary Album’. But it is only since mega-hit ‘Gangsta’ – one of the original soundtrack songs from the film ‘Suicide Squad’, aside ‘Heathens’ by Twenty One Pilots – that Kehlani really appeared on the radar of pretty much all self-respecting music media.
And her official debut ‘SWEETSEXYSAVAGE’ (27/01 via Atlantic Records) is still yet to see the light of day! For those who would have liked all the Beyoncé’s and Rihanna’s of the world to be a bit naughtier, more authentic and a little more streetwise: Kehlani is the shit!
