25 years ago this Sunday, the Genocide started in Rwanda. Between 07 April and 15 June 1994 about a million Rwandese were exterminated (that means an average of 10,000 a day).

To commemorate and to express the determination that nothing similar should happen in the future, there will will a Memorial March (Marche du souvenir) with torches (Marche aux flambeaux):

This march and an evening event (20.30 Soirée de la Mémoire, ULB, Av. Roosevelt 50, CP 160/26) are organised by the NGO IBUKA Europe and supported by the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, the Belgian Senat, the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), the Commune of Ixelles, the Rwandese embassy, the Centre Communautaire Laic Juif (CCLJ), the Comité de Coordination des Organisations Juives de Belgique (CCOJB), the Armenian Community in Belgium, Artistes rwandais, Ititero.
