Abbas Kiarostami is one of the most iconic Iranian directors. An active film-maker, he was involved in over forty films (including shorts, documentaries and feature films). In 1997, his film ‘Taste of Cherry’ won a Palme d’or at the Cannes film festival. A retrospective of an impressive career, with such works as ‘Take me home’ and ’24 Frames’, and ’76 minutes and 15 seconds with Abbas Kiarostami’, the documentary of his friend Seifollah Samadian.

For ’24 Frames’ I started with famous paintings but then switched to photos I had taken through the years. I included about four and half minutes of what I imagined might have taken place before or after each image that I had captured. – Abbas Kiarostami
