X – The eXploited screened at BIFFF

X – The eXploited (HU, 2018, 114’) by Károly Ujj Mészáros will be screened on 15 April 2019 at 2PM in the framework of the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival.
What the bear means for Berlin and what the palm is for Cannes is the Golden Raven for Brussels. At least for the cinephiles of fantasy movies. The festival, previously named Brussels International Festival of Fantastic Film, presents since 1983 to the public of Brussels the best of horror, thriller and sci-fi movies.
The Balassi Institute is longstanding partner of the BIFFF and supports the festival in presenting Hungarian sci-fi and thriller features.
This year the Hungarian film screened in the festival is X – The eXploited by Károly Ujj Mészáros:
Suffering from panic attacks since her husband’s suicide 15 years prior – also a police detective – Eva (Mónika Balsai) refuses to visit the crime scenes. But her meticulous examination of the photos of three deaths classified as suicides soon puts her, along with her colleague Peter (Zoltán Schmied), on the scent of what appears to be a serial killer operating in a Budapest in full urban guerrilla warfare.
