Let’s meet at 4 pm at RAVENSTEIN GALLERY for the official kick off of MIXITY Sings , one of the highlights of the MIXITY.brussels theme year. Ensemble of 8 choirs will gather to invite you into their musical universe. And the entrance is free.

MIXITY Sings kicks off on Saturday 22 April in the heart of the capital Saturday 22 April marks the start of MIXITY Sings, the choral event for the MIXITY.brussels 2017 theme year. MIXITY Sings means unity in diversity: 34 choirs, 32 concerts, 900 artists in 27 Brussels venues. As a taste of what is to come, an ensemble of 8 choirs will gather at 4pm at Galerie Ravenstein to provide their own interpretation of the musical phrase composed by Peter Spaepen.

Brussels is not showcasing just one model of culture, but takes its strength from its (super)diversity This is what MIXITY.brussels is all about, and will be highlighting throughout its theme year. MIXITY Sings has been created within this scope. MIXITY Sings means unity in diversity: 34 choirs, 32 concerts, 900 artists in 27 Brussels venues.

Brussels choirs from varied backgrounds and different choral associations, amateurs and professionals alike, will gather together under a common banner, namely a ” neutral ” musical phrase that each choir can adapt and make their own. The melody was written by Peter Spaepen, a composer from Schaerbeek, and will be the leitmotif underpinning a series of events set to begin on Saturday April 22, 2017.
