Chocolate & Cocoa: The Great Adventure

This year’s theme – Chocolate & Cocoa: the Great Adventure – will celebrate the latest chocolate trends and  the creativity of an entire profession. The richness of expression and the subtleties of cocoa will also be honored through the presence of producing countries, such as Peru.

This 2018 edition will highlight beer and chocolate pairings, two iconic products of Belgian culinary culture. The “Young Talents” area supported by the City of Brussels will return for this new edition and will reveal the new promising artisans of the Brussels Region. The public will also discover the many stages of processing cocoa into chocolate through the reconstruction of a production line by Callebaut.

A 3-day show accessible to all

The Salon du Chocolat will offer throughout 3 days a complete program of fun and educational activities for  young and old. The Chocolate Fashion Show: chocolatiers and fashion designers are already working together to present a
spectacular 2018 collection of chocolate outfits. These creations will be unveiled as a preview during the Gala  Evening on Thursday, 1st March and presented to the public every day at 5:00pm during the Salon. Among  the talents at work this year: Laurent Gerbaud & Patou Saint Germain, Jean-Philippe Darcis & Lauranne De Jaegher, Valentino & Sixtine Anne de Molina, Sigoji & École HEMO, Institut Émile Gryzon & Goha Gabrielyan, and also Bruyerre, Pralibel, Van Dender and Nadia Flecha Guazo.

Live demonstrations by top chefs: the greatest pastry chefs and chocolate masters will line up every hour on  the Pastry Show podium to present their best chocolate recipes and share their tips and tricks with the  public.

Workshops: visitors will be treated with brand new hands-on pastry workshops offered by Les secrets du Chef. For their part, budding chefs will be able to participate in dedicated workshops in the Chocoland area with Institut Emile Gryzon.

Book signings: in partnership with the famous bookshop Filigranes, the Salon will offer visitors the opportunity to have their books signed by authors of recently-published works on gastronomy, chocolate and patisserie.

In partnership with The Belgian Chocolate Way, the Salon will host a new space for discoveries, activities, demonstrations and tastings run by chocolatiers from all over Belgium.
