África Negra (São Tomé e Principe) + Rebel UP Afterparty !

Africa Negra is the most important musical ambassador on the island of Sao Tome and Principe, located on the shores of Equatorial Africa in the Atlantic Ocean. Their notoriety has only grown since 1974. The group is extremely popular in Portuguese-speaking African countries and among the diaspora around the world.

Whether in Europe, Latin America or North America, they are adulated for their inimitable line of guitar based on Rumba de Sao Tomé or Congolese Soukous, with also joyful notes from the Ghana Highlife.

Their music was a symbol of the early years of independence (1975). If over time the members of the group have changed, Africa Negra never really stopped. The group still has three of its founding members (the charismatic singer, Joao Seria, guitarist Leonildo Barros and bassist Albertino).
