Folklorissimo Festival in Brussels with Spain as guest of honour

Brussels, a city rich in culture. This summer, the residents of Brussels, Belgians and tourists were able to experience the Ommegang and the Meyboom as well as various celebra- tions in honour of our Manneken-Pis.

With the aim of further prolonging the pleasure, the City of Brussels, which is bound to its history, heritage and folklore, is delighted to launch the 19th edition of Folklorissimo on the Grand-Place. Many associations, brotherhoods and guilds will be on hand to showcase the folklore of Brussels and its gourmet traditions to the crowds!

Every year, the City of Brussels invites a guest of honour in order to unearth its traditions and specialities during the event. This year, it is Spain that will honour us with its presence. These bonds and encounters between local cultures and those from further afield em- body the true essence of our cosmopolitan city. To mark the occasion, the Manneken-Pis will have to choose his most attractive Spanish costume from the twenty outfits that he has in his wardrobe.
