Now it’s time for one step beyond! We have been re-organising Librebook to offer you a renewed literary experience and a community project and we would like to invite all our readers, authors, publishers, librarians, clients and friends who have been supporting Librebook since its very beginning and afterwards, to join us for the mid-summer weekend of events.
Books, poetry, storytelling and music, food and drink will wait for you. Come and visit us on 29/6, 30/6 & 01/7 to know what’s going on!

Multilingual Sarau of poetry with Hristo Karaslavov & friends

Librebook invites you to its multilingual sarau of poetry. « Sarau » is a Brazilian word for an open mic evening involving poetry and music. Bring your own poems or poems from other authors, and take part to a moving moment of sharing. Our guest Bulgarian poet Hristo Karaslavov, Suzanna Matvejevic and fellow writers will start the night with their own creations, before letting you step up.

Urban Stories – concert of Thea Soti & Jonas Engels

Librebook in collaboration with the Balassi Institute presents the concert URBAN STORIES, a collaboration between Hungarian new-age vocalist Thea Soti and German saxophonist Jonas Engel.

THEA SOTI is regarded as a courageous and uncompromising voice at the interface of creative jazz, modern pop music, avant-garde poetry and improvised music. In addition to her interdisciplinary projects with dancers, she enjoys working on the borderline between language, sound and text. She is a founding member of the European composer´s collective SUNG SOUND and co-curator of the experimental concert series « STIMMUNGEN » in Loft Cologne.

JONAS ENGEL is known for his edgy and powerful sound integrating extended techniques. He is the leader of the band “Own Your Bones”, a quartet which daringly exploits the possibilities of sound and composition for two saxophones. Engel´s other project is the successful jazz-trio “Just Another Foundry”, which has won several jazz awards throughout Europe. Concert tours throughout Europe, South America, Middle East, China and South-East Asia.
