An exhibition-convention on tattooing, Black Brussels, will be held from 26 to 28 April at the Museum of Art and History at Parc Cinquantenaire in Brussels.
“The art of tattooing dates back to the 6th millennium BC and the practice is very much part of the history of humanity,” say the organizers, the ASBL Artdynamik and Singulier Tattoo. Not only is tattooing becoming an increasingly popular phenomenon, they argue, but the line between tattooing and art is becoming more and more blurred.
An excellent selection of ‘Black Artists’ and international artists, both young and experienced, will present to the public the best of tattoo art in a variety of different settings: live performances, tattoo-shop, contemporary art exhibition, concerts, workshops, and conferences.
In addition, the French cooperative Appropriate Audiences will present Tatoué, the first automated tattoo machine in the world.
