The most important glass collection in Belgium bears the name of the Spaniard Antonio Alonso Madero, a diplomat established in Brussels. He collected pieces over decades through auctions, flea markets and antique dealers. Glass has not always received the merited attention in Spain, for this reason the Cervantes Institute in Brussels supports the initiative of promoting this universal heritage by a website, thus making this important collection available worldwide.
