More than 500,000 dahlias and begonias were used. The Grand-Place was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site 20 years ago. Tapis de fleurs. Every two years, the Grand Place in Brussels hosts the floral carpet. A hundred volunteers assemble 1800 sq. metres worth of begonias into a carpet in a matter of 4 hours. The display lasts three days and every year's carpet is a dedication to Belgium's friendship with other countries.
