Exceptional weather: Thalys network is not operational
“Due to major disruptions caused by exceptional climate conditions, we are obliged to close down all our lines”. Thalys announced on its social networks that it ceased selling tickets to its customers after major disruptions on Thursday.
“Traffic has been disrupted for the past two days due to the extreme weather conditions , “ said Mattias Baertsoen. “In order not to overload the trains in these exceptional circumstances, Thalys was forced to temporarily stop the sale of tickets on all lines. “
“The situation is gradually normalizing on the network on Friday, but significant disruptions are still to be expected” added the spokesman.
The train network is expected to be fully operational during the weekend.
