World Cup fever gets up to 110,000 Belgians betting daily

Some 123,000 Belgians used online betting for the first game of the Red Devils for this World Cup, making a record. This is more than double the usual number of bets.

Roughly 800,000 Belgians are registered online as bettors. At the end of May, they averaged between 40,000 and 50,000 to make a daily bet. The World Cup blew up this figure: 110,000 Belgians are now betting on a daily basis. The number of registrations also exploded: Some 8,000 accounts are being created every day now.
