Art Truc Troc & Design 2018

On the 26th – 28th of January, the prestigious halls of Bozar with Wolubilis Cultural Centre, will once again host Art Truc Troc & Design; an event that focuses on contemporary art and design and an added oppurtunity to trade for you to trade for pieces of art you like.

This year, the emphasis is placed on the body art. Body art is an art performance in which artists use or abuse their own body to make to express their work. This can vary from body painting to pushing the body to its physical limits in obscure poses or with painful feats. The motto for this year is “Discover the body in all of its aspects ; as a place and mean of expression and even sometimes, as a genuine piece of art”.

The program

A tattoo pop up shop by the Singulier Tattoo’s team, a box of temporary tattoos, live body painting with Makeup For Ever; kids activities, performances, and many other creative live workshops!

Last but not least: a giant fresco by our special “body art” guest Jean-Luc Moerman. You will have the chance to see the amazing work of this artist who places the tattoo at the core of his work through an exclusive exhibition.

Art Truc Troc & Design concept

There is more than 300 works placed across nearly 100 buddings; with plenty of established artists showcasing their work at Bozar. With paintings, photographs, sculptures; drawings, engravings, design, this is an oppurtunity to discover the current vibe in Belgian art.

Armed with their imagination and a few Post-it notes, visitors are invited to trade with the artist for any piece of art that may attract their attention. Sunny holidays, the creation of their website or private piano lessons, the trading’s only limit is the visitor’s imagination.
