SNCB: Rail Services Set to Strike on Tuesday

A CGSP union strike will commence on Tuesday, 27 February, affecting SNCB rail services from Monday at 22.00 through to Tuesday 22:00.

Commuters can expect to face severe delays as services will be cut due to low staffing, but new rules set by rail services states that a minimum service will now run in the case of strikes, as workers must state their position of striking three days prior; allowing passengers to plan accordingly.

The strike is one of many that have occurred in the past month as continuing disagreements between unions and the government over plans to change the way public sectors calculate pensions for employees in strenuous jobs; with last weeks strike ending after an agreement between the government and Stib management.
