Tai Chi Season comes to Brussels

The new Tai Chi season comes again to Brussels on Wednesday 16 May at the fish market. On the initiative of first Alderman Alain Courtois, the city of Brussels has decided to repeat its sessions of free Tai Chi.

From 16 May to 30 September, weekly Tai Chi courses will take place in various parks and public spaces around the city of Brussels. Having seen the turnout from last year, this season of chi will take place at the more accessible fish market.

As in previous years, participants will benefit from the professional coaching of the two partners of the city: « The Taoist Tai Chi Association of Belgium » and « the Yong Nian Shi tai Chi Quan Association ».

More than 18.000 participants from 24 countries (NE Belgium) were collected last year, and three-quarters of the replies were from people over 60 years of age.

During the 2016 and 2017 sessions, the International Society of Tai Chi Taoist conducted a survey among its members and results highlighted that the practice of this art/sport is great for mental and physical health.
