This challenge is open to young adults between 18-30 from Canada and Europe. You have the opportunity to shape the society of tomorrow!

You have a unique opportunity to influence policies to achieve an inclusive digital society. Your opinion matters!

Connect with driven young people from Canada and Europe on a local and international level and share your opinions on how we can build our future society in a modern digital context! Network, develop new skills and influence topics that are important to you and the world!

You’ll also have the chance to win a trip to Frankfurt to present the outcomes of this project.

Throughout six 24-hour Thinkathons in 12 different cities across Europe and Canada, online and on-site participants will work together to shape our society, building on the topics of Citizenship 4.0, Social Relations, Smart and Fast Expanding Cities, Security, Education and Entertainment & Culture in a digital setting.

This event, organised in partnership with Goethe Institut Montreal and Carrefour Jeunesse Emploi NDG, and financed by the European Commission, will be a great opportunity for a transatlantic experience within the spectrum of Digital inclusion for young people from Europe and Canada.

With a very engaging 24-hour format, the European hub will be composed of:

  • 50 participants on the spot;
  • Up to 250 participants online;
  • Interactive panel discussions with top level decision-makers from the digital sector;
  • Workshops on digital-related topics;
  • Connection to the Canadian hub through a platform.

About the project
Over the past 30 years, a new digital culture, interactivity, and instantaneous communication have fundamentally changed our world. We are now at a new crossroads: advances in augmented reality, virtual reality and artificial intelligence; the “internet of things”; how we interact with devices and the disappearance of the keyboard; and big data and user experiences that are tailored to the individual will all change how we live, work, play and participate in society – administratively, economically, socially and politically.
What are the potential benefits of these changes, what are the potential drawbacks? How can we ensure that such changes lead to the further development of inclusive societies?
While public awareness of some ‘negative aspects’ of a digital world (on-line bullying, ‘fake news’) has increased, there has as yet been very little public discourse on how these aspects can be ‘fixed’.
“Our digital future, c’est ICI” offers young adults a new platform for a debate that addresses our digital future in a holistic and positive way and focuses on identifying the principles, processes, and decisions that will lead to the most inclusive digital societies.
