The Banff Mountain Film Festival is considered one the largest and most prestigious adventure and mountain film festival in the world.

The festival takes its name from the village in which it is organized. Banff is located in Canada’s largest national park in Alberta, in the heart of the majestic Canadian Rockies. Since 1976, the festival has rewarded the best international adventure and mountain films each year, both professional and amateur. From 400 films, a professional jury retains about 80 of them which are then entered in official competition. Only 12 awards will be given. At the end of the Festival, the best films go on tour around the world to be presented in 42 countries. A journey that in 800 evenings projections draws some 600,000 spectators fond of escape, strong emotion and great adventures.

More than 2 hours of spectacular images composed of 7 to 9 films, each in a particular genre. Inspiration is offered through poignant stories, unseen adventures, extreme athletes, breathtaking landscapes, lots of humor and a touch of madness.

7 short to medium-length films in original version and subtitled in French and Dutch.
