Created in 2018 at the initiative of the Brussels Secretary of State for Scientific Research and Innoviris, the “I Love Science Festival” is free and accessible to all. The second festival will take place at Brussels Expo and offer visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of science and new technologies.
A fun, interactive festival
The I Love Science Festival involves much more than just observing scientific discoveries, with young and old alike able to actually take part in the experiments and activities on offer. There will be something for every taste and every age, from an escape game to a mobile planetarium, not to mention a virtual reality paragliding simulator.
Les jeunesses scientifiques de Belgique will obviously be present again. In addition to exhibitions of high school students’ science projects, they will feature a new activity called Science Worlds. The programme for this great team game includes riddles, challenges and the discovery of parallel worlds. Science trucks from all over Europe will also make their comeback, offering visitors of all ages the opportunity to try the craziest experiments.

BOZAR will take part in the event, as it did last year. Several activities based on the theme “Speculative Futures” will be available at Brussels Expo, Osseg(h)em Park and BOZAR. They will involve ecology and the answers that art and research can provide to environmental problems. They will discuss the commitment of life sciences researchers and creators (artists, designers, urban planners, filmmakers and directors) to asking questions and proposing bold solutions for the future of the planet. These themes will be addressed through debates, exhibitions, virtual reality films, an app and experimental walks.
The “I Love Science Festival” is a total immersion into the world of science and technology. It is a great opportunity to discover and take a greater interest in the progress made in these areas.
