‘Once In A Long, Long While…’: fairy-tale dream-pop/folktronica from Reykjavik!
Mythic Icelandic dream- pop/folktronica, from the cranium of Reykjavik-resident American Ryan Karazija, who was no longer able to ignore the comparisons with Sigur Rós, Radiohead and Grizzly Bear after second issue ‘0’ from 2014. “Art echoes the loudest from periods of isolation” and Karazija knows how to convert that loneliness into sublime ambient soundscapes accompanied by heartbreaking melodies. All of which he moulded into third longplayer ‘Once In A Long, Long While…’ together with right-hand Mike Lindsay of Tunng and producer Andrew Scheps (Adele, Hozier, The Mars Volta).
