This initially double-concert in the club will now become an actual ‘quadruple bill‘ with Systema Solar and La Chiva Gantiva on too, in the box! The ticket price remains €12/15 though!
SYSTEMA SOLAR is a crazy Colombian collective ‘from near the Caribbean’ and you might already know them from Dour, Couleur Café or the Antilliaanse Feesten? Apparently they will be bringing ‘berbenautika‘ and that is then a cross between the ‘pikos‘ soundsystems and the ‘verbena’parties!? Or, as they say in Spanish: ‘Whatever. Party!‘
LA CHIVA GANTIVA is also of Colombian origin but is known to dancing music-lovers as international, diverse, from Brussels, and even as ‘neighbour to AB‘. In 2017, they finally release new material on a third CD. We’re happy to repeat it too: with their extra tambore, alegre, llamador and maracones they are sure to get you back on the champeta, chirimia and mapalé!
ORKESTA MENDOZA gathers in Tucson, Arizona, and is linked to Calexico via their frontman. Here is a phenomenally infectious mix of texmex, cumbia, mambo, merengue, ranchero, rock‘n’roll, country-twang, psychedelica & Perez Prado… The whole hot hog, wittily played with class, passion, and pleasure (and released on the brilliant Glitterbeat label!)
LA NEGRA ALBINA, has Paula Leon as solid core: their homebase is Brussels – on the street or in parks if need be – but most definitely with Latin or Hispanic or South America roots, and what they present is quite simply extra-territorially enjoyable.
