Belgium vs. Portugal: the big game
What would you bet on a Belgian victory for the 2018 World Cup? And what about Portugal? The next game between the two on 2nd of June could give a good indication.
The pre-cup games are always a nice opportunity for national coaches to have an overall idea about their vital forces. It allows them to make as many substitutions as they aim to and to assess which system completely fits with their expectations.
But it sometimes can sound a bit boring, as there is no real stake. Belgium versus Portugal, however, should be very interesting. Although the two teams do not have the ratings of Brazil or Germany, they are definitely part of the TOP 10 teams that can claim something within the next couple of months.
Led by Eden Hazard, Kevin De Bruyne and Thibault Courtois, the Red Devils have been growing and growing over the last years, and some experts stress that these outsiders could have a good chance to win.
For the Portuguese part, Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates have won the 2016 Euro Cup, and they therefore have some targets in mind.
Both teams have furthermore almost achieved a perfect qualifying round with no games lost, which is a good news ahead of the next games. The winner of this top game then could be psychologically in a good position to impress the other major teams.
