Bono in Brussels to visit the European Parliament and promote EU-Africa partnership
Bono, the lead-vocalist of U2 as well as the co-founder of the ONE Campaign, visited the European Parliament today, October 10th, 2018.
Bono met with President Antonio Tajani and the Parliament’s political group leaders in order to support the idea of a new partnership between the European Union and Africa.
The ONE is an international non-governmental organization which aims to fight extreme poverty and preventable diseases in Africa. The European authorities on the other hand are keen on working towards the new EU-Africa partnership, especially with the increase of the number of migrants from Africa to Europe over the last few years. The President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker has also addressed this point during his last State of the Union address in September.
