Dutch language courses in Brussels double

Flanders’ Centre for Adult Education in Brussels has more than doubled the number of their Dutch language courses offered this summer to keep up with demand.

While the Flemish government have introduced programmes to encourage expats learning Dutch in Flanders, the rise hasn’t increased at the same rate as in Brussels.

These additional classes given are for the people who have already taken a beginner’s course – only beginner’s level was previously offered during the summer.

Flemish education minister Hilde Crevits provided €440,000 more funding than last summer to meet this growing demand – bringing the total investment for Flanders and Brussels to €1.2 million.

The school has several locations in Brussels where Dutch is taught, and a complete list of classes can be found at Huis van het Nederlands, or House of Dutch.
