EU district paralyzed due to bomb threat on Tuesday March 19th
The European district was paralyzed for nearly three hours on Tuesday due to a bomb threat. The security perimeter was lifted shortly before 1:30 pm, confirmed the Brussels-Capital Ixelles police zone.
A consulting company located on rue Breydel, not far from the Schuman roundabout, which received a call around 10:30 indicating “that a bomb was going to explode,” said the spokesman of the police zone Brussels-Capital Ixelles, Ilse Van De Keere.
“About a dozen people were evacuated and a security perimeter was put in place,” she said. A team with a sniffer dog came down on the spot. Part of the European district was closed to traffic.
