Half of Belgian trains are at least 1 minute late
It appears that only 49.1% of Belgian trains are on time.
What do you think about Belgian trains?
Consider all the times you had to take a train in Belgium; how was the timetable?
The SNCB trains are quite late, as only 49.1% were exactly on time last year. That was revealed by an internal SNCB’s report which has been seen by L’Écho and De Tijd. This information should however be compared with facts. It actually seems that 87.2% of the Belgian trains were on time or had a delay of maximum 6 minutes. It basically means the passengers do not often face a massive disruption, but it still worth keeping in mind that about 13% of the trains are significantly late.
The report makes differences between slots. Indeed from, 6.00 am to 9.00 am, only 40.7% of the trains are on time, and 39.7% in the evening. When it comes to the day or the weekend, the situation is however better and more than 50% of the trains are on time.

Delays can be quite a big deal. While passengers can benefit from some rights, the EU institutions are actually negotiating to reform those rights and make them better. You might take advantage of all of them over the upcoming years.
