The City of Brussels set up a new heat wave plan for the summer. People who suffer from isolation or who are in a precarious situation can take their precautions and dial the 0800 35 550. This number is free of charges and available during office hours.
As soon as the temperature exceeds 28 degrees, one of the community centres teams will activate the ‘Heat wave plan’. The main objective of this centres is to fight against isolation and solitude of weakened persons.
Once the plan is activated, the team will:
- have regular contact with the registered people
- distribute jars and flasks
- check the well-being of the registered persons
- check the living conditions inside the house
