IKEA Belgium launches its online store
IKEA Belgium launched yesterday its own online store. “All Belgians can, from now on, order their favorite IKEA products comfortably on their sofa and have them delivered to their homes” explains Annelies Nauwelaerts, PR Manager IKEA Belgium.
“The webshop is complementary to the IKEA stores, which remain at the heart of the customer experience. The world evolves. Our customers too. We add the online store to our offer to better meet their needs and be with them everywhere and at any time. We combine the best of both worlds,” explains Catherine Bendayan, CEO of IKEA Belgium.
40 million visitors online
“In 2017, besides the 15 million visitors in our stores, we have registered more than 40 million visitors on our IKEA website, a figure that has grown exponentially these last years. We intend to give them the opportunity to shop at IKEA whenever and wherever they want,” says Zita De Coninck, Web & E-commerce Manager at IKEA Belgium.
Already more than 120 new jobs
To ensure the development of its online store, IKEA Belgium has already recruited more than 120 additional employees, mainly to strengthen the Customer Support Center, the logistics teams of the Winterslag distribution center and the central e-commerce team.

The delivery time varies between 2 and 6 days according to the article and appears directly in the customer’s basket. The shipping costs are between 4.99 € (for orders under 5 kg) and 229.00 € (for orders over 500 kg), depending on the weight of the order.
