Nearly 45,000 museumPASSES sold in only four months

More than 45,000 museumPASSES have been sold since the launch of the pass back in September, reported the creator of this cultural project, museumPASS.

The pass allows holders the possibility to visit more than 120 museums (without any limit) for a year, in Flanders, as well as in Wallonia and Brussels. All for a price of 50 euros.

“The goal for 2018 was to sell 30,000 passes. The number of passes sold exceeds all of our expectations and proves that the Belgians eagerly awaited such a formula,” reported Julie Van der heyden, the director of museumPASS, who hopes to reach 100,000 sales in 2019.

The pass currently gives access to 129 museums, including 62 in Flanders (48%), 36 in Wallonia (28%) and 31 in Brussels (24%). In Brussels, BOZAR and KANAL – Center Pompidou and the Art & History Museum attract the most pass holders.

In Wallonia, the BAM – Museum of Fine Arts (Mons), the Félicien Rops Museum (Namur) and the Folon Foundation (La Hulpe) are the most visited museums.

The most popular museums in Flanders are the M Museum (Louvain), the S.M.A.K. (Ghent), the Museum of Fine Arts (Ghent) and the FOMU (Antwerp).
