Rail Strikes: third union joins strike with eight day notice
After the Autonomous Union of Train Drivers (SACT) and the Independent Railway Workers’ Union (CIS), the Metisp-Protect union is now filing a strike notice on the rail company.
The notice filed by the Metisp union covers the dates of June 25th, 26th and 29th, as well as July 2nd, 4th, 6th, 9th and 11th. On Monday, SACT had filed a 48-hour strike notice starting Friday, June 22 at 3:00 AM. The CIS had a few hours before issued a 24-hour strike notice for drivers coming into effect on June 27 at 22:00.
The newest addition to the strike is joining with workers’ organizations to protest against the proposal of the revaluation directorate for the traveling staff.
Metisp-Protect opposes any increase in productivity imposed on train drivers, denounces that information on ongoing consultations is not forwarded to the approved trade unions and requires a clear revaluation for drivers.
