Volunteers in Watermael-Boitsfort collect 20,000 cigarette butts off the ground to raise awareness

On Saturday, October 6th, more than 50 volunteers gathered to clean the streets of Watermael-Boitsfort as a response to the Facebook page called Leo Not Happy.

The page was launched with the aim of raising awareness against daily pollution. It has proved to be effective as volunteers always show up in order to contribute towards making their commune cleaner. As a result, this time they managed to collect about 20,000 cigarette butts in just an hour and a half.

They  also distributed 200 pocket ashtrays to people who passed by in order to raise awareness against throwing cigarette butts in public areas.
