Works on Fernand Cocq Square and surrounding areas in Ixelles have begun

The works to renew the Fernand Cocq Square have begun on Monday 5. The works extend between Porte de Namur and Place Fernand Cocq, and until the Ixelles town hall.

With the aim of creating more sustainable and multi-functional public spaces, the project also intends to improve both the circulation and the commercial quality of this area.

The work is expected to be completed by April 2019, which lead to some disturbances in traffic around the area.

So far several deviations have been reported as movement around Chaussée d’Ixelles has been narrowed down.

It has been reported that buses 45 and 71 are deviated for at least 3 weeks. In particular 3 streets have been affected, La rue de la Tulip becomes a dead-end street and the circulation from La rue du Conseil is reversed as vehicles are directed towards La rue du Collège.
