2 Rail strikes to take place this month
Rail strikes to take place over two days. Two strike notices filed were one for a 48-hour strike starting on June 22, and the other for a 24-hour strike on June 27. A minimum serivce that was legislated during the last bout of strikes is now expected to run for the first time.
The Independent Railway Workers Union filed a 24-hour strike notice for train drivers, which comes into effect on June 27 at 10:00 pm and the Autonomous Union of Train Drivers (SACT) filed a 48-hour strike notice starting Friday, June 22 at 3:00 am. Both organizations are protesting against the proposal of the revaluation directorate for travelling staff.
HR Rail confirms that the SACT has given notice but the CIS has not yet done so formally. If the conciliation meeting with the SACT fails, the minimum service on the rail should enter for the first time.
To guarantee these services, employees must indicate no later than 72 hours before the start of the strike their participation.
