A passenger went through the security checks at Brussels Airport wearing a belt with explosives
A passenger was able to go through the security checks at Brussels Airport wearing a belt with explosives, reported Belgian news outlet, Het Laatste Nieuws. These controls are the responsibility of G4S, which employs around 900 people at Zaventem airport.
“The belt had wires, a detonator and a substance with the same intensity as real explosives,” reported the anonymous passenger to the daily. “When I was searched, I pretended to be a foreign passenger who did not speak Dutch.”
The individual claimed that he was wearing equipment related to his back pain. “To my surprise, I was allowed to continue on my way.” And that’s not all. “The same day, I was able to go around the security twice with a fake staff badge and I was able to pass with a knife without being noticed.”
