The classical music festival with the highest rock ‘n roll content – that’s how Festival Musiq3 describes itself! Ever since the first edition in 2011 Festival Musiq3 has wanted to share the pleasure of classical music with as broad, young and diverse a public as possible.
And it does this by being open: open for all musical styles, from classical to jazz, from world music to rock. Open for all musicians: big stars stand next to young recruits from the academies. Open for all audiences: whether you come with friends, with the whole family, as a couple or on your own, everyone can enjoy beautiful musical moments, in a festive and relaxed atmosphere.

Program:
Opening concert: Diversity
One of our greatest baroque sopranos – with a passion for Zumba – an electrifying string quartet audaciously revisiting old classics, a gifted guitarist and oudist who composes for a string ensemble and a Festival Orchestra that flits between musical genres with ease and consummate skill… this will be an opening concert that delivers on its theme: Diversity.
These sonatas for violin and piano are musical feats that would seem beyond the reach of all but Mozart. He managed to harmonise the contrasting timbres of the piano and the violin through lyricism and melody. This subtle equilibrium has been mined by these two peerless young chamber musicians and recorded on an album that’s still hot off the press but already creating a critical buzz.
Strach – a fear song
Lyrical chants & acrobatic performance
Black is the color of my true love’s hair (folk song)
Samuel Barber, Sure on this shining nightLeonard Cohen, Dance me to the end of love
Georg Friedrich Händel, from Amadigi di Gaula, HWV 11 : “Ah ! Spietato”
Henry Purcell, from King Arthur, Z. 628 : “What power art thou”
Strach – a Fear Song is a real find. Under the little tent of the Théâtre d’un jour, it is circus in its most intimate guise, dreamlike and sensitive. Patrick Masset was guided by two desires: to combine circus and opera and to rediscover a wild and strange circus of origins. Two carriers, an acrobat and a singer take us on a journey where we will face our fears. After huge success at the Festival d’Avignon, Strach was awarded the Prix de la Critique in November 2018.
Ausonia Ensemble
Holiday in Venice
Ausonia have always focused on bringing baroque music to life through rigorous technique and the exploration of all forms of expression. And they can really light up the stage, so prepare for the festive fun that awaits when these performers play Tartini’s concerti and sonatas. Tartini is in the full beam of this year’s spotlight, and we will be able to discover his concerti and famous Devil’s Trill Sonata for ourselves in Mira Glodeanu’s impassioned playing.
