Event description

The FAIB is pleased to forward the invitation below to attend the second session on the development of Brexit.

Tuesday 18th April, 12:00-14:00
The Press Club Brussels Europe

Rue Froissart 95, 1000 Brussels

The Association Leadership Academy and the Federation of International Associations in Belgium (FAIB) are pleased to invite you to the jointly hosted special info-debate on “Brexit for Associations”.  Please follow this link to our blog for full details.

The debate had moved on since our last Brexit event in October 2016 and the landscape is becoming more defined.  Whilst Theresa May seeks to garner support from the House of Lords for her negotiating mandate, it is clear that the UK will leave the “single market” and seek to agree a new customs union deal.  EU wide information is a pre-requisite for business and associations provide an ideal platform for information gathering of the negotiating priorities of the EU’s other 27 Member States.

Our confirmed speakers will provide insight into how to address the opportunities and challenges offered by this unprecedented course of events.

Richard Corbett MEP will share his insights into the possible political outcomes anticipated from both a UK and EU perspective.
Glenn Vaughan, Chief Executive of the British Chamber of Commerce  will inform attendees about the activities undertaken by the UK business sector.
Adrian Harris, Director General of Orgalime, will share how he has structured his association to anticipate and deal with issues arising from this context.
